The trailer for the upcoming Peter Jackson-directed film “The Lovely Bones” is out exclusively through Apple and it looks amazing. Based on the book by Alice Sebold, “The Lovely Bones” tells the story of a young girl named Susie Salmon (played by “Atonement”‘s lovely and brilliant Saoirse Ronan) who has been murdered and watches over her family from heaven as she comes to terms with her own death and desire to see her killer — played by a mega-creepy-looking Stanley Tucci — punished. Her parents are played by Rachel Weisz (um, who I sat next to in a movie theater once and she was so pretty and nice) and Mark Wahlberg, in a role that Ryan Gosling was originally supposed to play (he even got chubs!). I love Marky Mark, but every time he opens his mouth, I hear Dirk Diggler and/or David McCall, his character in “Fear,” and it throws me off. Not sure he can play a grieving father, but perhaps I will be proved wrong. Check out the trailer here! [The Lovely Bones]
