Weird And Random Celebrity Song Dedications

During his concert in Philly on Saturday, Elton John dedicated a song to Reese Witherspoon, who was there with her BF, Jake Gyllenhal. Before he started playing “Tiny Dancer,” Elton said, “Reese, this one’s for you.” We think it was pretty random of the singer to shout out Reese, but musicians are always busting out weird dedications.   • Michelle Obama wasn’t actually at Paul McCartney’s concert in Washington D.C. over the weekend, but that didn’t stop the former Beatle from talking about her before he launched into the love song “Michelle.” He suggested that Barack serenade the first lady with the tune.   • In 2008, the ever-provocative Madonna dedicated “Like A Virgin” to Pope Benedict XVI. She said, “I dedicate this song to the Pope, because I’m a child of God.” But the church isn’t exactly Madonna’s biggest fan. In 1990, they called her tour one of the most “satanic shows in the history of humanity.” Religious folk have been condemning Madge and accusing her of blasphemy forevs. [MTV]
