This week is shaping up for awesomeness all around in TV land. Jillian will finally pick her dude on “The Bachelorette,” though we have a sneaking suspicion that it will be Reid rather than the two she’s kept around for the finale. Diddy returns to make a band—this time, his own. “More to Love” and “Holidate” will both premiere. NeNe’s braless ta-ta’s return to Bravo in “The Real Housewives of Atlanta.” And Shark Week 2009, kicks into gear!
The Show: “The Bachelorette”
Set Your DVR For: Monday, 8pm (EST), ABC
The Deal: The much awaited final installment of “The Bachelorette” debuts tonight on ABC. Since May, Amelia has been liveblogging the festivities as Jillian searched for the one. Has she finally found him? And which man will be receiving the final rose? Find out in the series finale tonight. And if you just can’t get enough, Tuesday at 10pm (EST) you can catch “The Bachelorette: After the Final Rose.” Here’s hoping it’s not nearly as tumultuous as last season.
The Show: “Making His Band”
Set Your DVR For: Monday, 10pm (EST), MTV
The Deal: Instead of forming the next reality show music group that will inevitably fade into nothingness, in this series premiere, Diddy puts a twist on his usual MTV antics. This time, he’s auditioning musicians to play in his band. He’s casting for a full ensemble—including a keyboardist, bassist, guitarist, drummer, back-up singers, and a deejay. The winners will tour with Diddy in support of his upcoming album. For these people, this show might actually mean a shot at the big time, as opposed to a shot right back to oblivion. Although we could seriously do without the Diddy ego.
The Show: “More to Love”
Set Your DVR For: Tuesday, 9pm (EST), FOX
The Deal: From “The Bachelor” creator, this show literally adds a more to the original premise. Luke Conley, a 26-year-old sub-contractor, real estate investor and former college football offensive lineman who stands at 6’3” and weighs 300 pounds will be dating his way through women of all shapes and sizes. Watch as this “real man” and these “real women” try to find love. Although you know how we feel about the use of the word “real” in this context.
The Show: “Holidate”
Set Your DVR For: Wednesday, 10pm (EST), SoapNet
The Deal: In this reality TV show spinoff of the Kate Winslet and Cameron Diaz movie “The Holiday,” each episode will feature two women who swap cities and go on a date with a man picked for her in that town. From brothers, to co-workers, to friends, the women will date an important person from the other woman’s lives.
The Show: “The Real Housewives of Atlanta”
Set Your DVR For: Thursday, 10pm (EST), Bravo
The Deal: NeNe, Kim, Sheree, and all those housewife crazies are back for season two of the Atlanta version of “Real Housewives!” There’s no telling what will happen. Eviction? Wig pulling? Guns? A hair cut?! It’s going to be out of control. DVR’s worldwide may not be able to handle the heat of these housewives.
The Show: “Shark Week 2009”
Set Your DVR For: Begins Sunday, August 2, Discovery
The Deal: Every summer since 1987, the Discovery Channel has been airing a week-long TV-event full of shark facts. So brace yourself for a whole-lotta learning about these beastly, jaw-bearing fish.
