Less Is More: Simcha Goes From Rockabilly To Girl Next Door
Simcha rocks a very distinct look on a daily basis — eyeshadow and cat eyeliner, ruby red lips, plenty of bling and a pompadour. And she looks rad. But when she told us that the only people who’ve seen her sans the war paint are her bedfellows, we decided it was time for a make-under, just so she’d have a look to bust out on days when she wants to sleep in and stuff. The dramatic “after,” an oh-so-informative video and the products we used, after the jump!
It took several makeup wipes, but underneath all the layers we discovered Simcha’s freaking gorgeous complexion. Instead of her more traditional eye makeup, we dabbed on some transparent Clarins Instant Smooth, $30, which fills in fine lines and generally makes your skin look like it’s airbrushed, in a good way. We skipped foundation and dabbed on a tiny amount of AmazingCosmetics AmazingConcealer, $42, around her nose area, smoothed some NYX Rouge Cream Blush in Hot Pink, $7, on to give her cheeks a natural-looking flush, patted Benefit Creaseless Cream Shadow in shimmery nude Honey Bunny, $19, on her lower lid and topped it off with some Kiehl’s Marvelous Mineral Mascara, $16.50. We let her smudge some Shu Uemura Rouge Unlimited RD 148 lipstick, $23, on (since red is her signatuah coloh), and patted it down with a little Chapstick on top to get it more makeout-friendly sheer. Then Simcha literally let her hair down and removed her gold chains for a more low-key look. We think she looks great no matter what she’s working with, but now she’s got a five-minute look in her arsenal.
