Is Jon Stewart going to take over for Walter Cronkite? Not exactly, but they now share a title. A Time Magazine poll revealed that Jon is now America’s Most Trusted Newscaster. He won 44 percent of the vote, coming in at first or second place in every state except Vermont. Brian Williams came in second, followed by Charlie Gibson. Katie Couric was dead last. But there’s something a little odd about this poll…Before we go patting Jon Stewart on the back, let’s think about this for a moment. Why was he included in this list? The three others are serious newscasters while Jon Stewart, though totally informative and tell-it-like-it-is, is ultimately a comedian.
