Love Nest: Vena Cava Designer Lisa Mayock’s Gorgeous Home

When I think of where designers or creative-types live, I picture these pitch-perfect spaces with amazing art, expensive rugs and the exact right shade of grey on the walls. Basically, a home that looks like an interior designer spent hundreds of billable hours making everything look flawless (but still a little lived in). Design Sponge just posted the Brooklyn home of Vena Cava co-designer—and in true US Weekly-verbage, “She’s just like us!” Sweet, budget design solutions, after the jump!Lisa scored her dining room table from a neighbor’s garbage pile (uh, I may have to move to her ‘hood). The tabletop hands are eBay finds, the bedroom rug is good ‘ole Ikea and blanket on the bed is from CB2. And like so many savvy non-pro decorators (and a lot of the pros out there, too), she’s all about flea markets—the vintage and antiques heavy flea, Brimfield is a fav. See the couch and living room rug? Hand-me-downs from her parents. Oh, and the biggest piece of evidence that she’s got a real girl (yet still chic) apartment? That ugly-pretty, pink tiled bathroom! We get it: Work with what you have. I’m inspired. [Design Sponge]
