If you’ve ever watched “Rock of Love,” you’re well aware that dating a rock star is passe. Ditto for athletes—who wants a dude whose bicep measurement is bigger than his IQ? No, there’s a new type of guy to lust after—Washington politicos. The Obama administration is ushering in a new throng of young, brilliant, and (dare we say) extremely hot politicians, and Hollywood’s leading ladies are taking notice. Rashida Jones, of “The Office” and “Parks and Recreation,” is currently dating President Obama’s chief speechwriter, Jon Favreau. Sure, he may be the one who drunkenly groped a Hillary Clinton cut-out during last year’s primary, but this dude is (a) adorable and (b) has one of the highest ranking jobs in the country even though he’s only 27. The couple made their first appearance at the White House Correspondents Dinner and have since been spotted cuddling at a hip Georgetown bar. [Celebitchy]
Then there’s “Private Practice” star Kate Walsh, who’s been getting cozy with Sean Smith, deputy assistant secretary for public affairs at the Department of Homeland Security. (You know he’s important because his title is so long.) The two were apparently “phone friends” for months, but recently went public. Sean reportedly sent her flowers the day after the Correspondents Dinner to thank her for being his date. Awww…sweet.
We hope other Hollywood ladies catch on. Here are a few more civil unions we have in mind.
Who in the White House is just a little cuter that Jon Favreau? According to Huffington Post readers, Obama’s personal assistant Reggie Love takes the prize for hottest dude in the White House. The 27-year-old played both basketball and football for Duke University, and often hoops it up with the Prez. We’re thinking he’d be a great rebound (get it? basketball?) for Rihanna.
Before becoming associate director of Obama’s Office of Public Liason, Kal Penn starred in “The Namesake” and “Harold and Kumar Go To White Castle” and had a regular role on “House.” And did we mention he’s cute? Now that Natalie Portman is “not dating” Sean Penn, we think she should give this Penn a whirl. And since Natalie and Rashida Jones are pals, this foursome could go on genetically superior blind dates.
Cutie Eugene Kang, 24, is special assistant to the President. He’s single and since he has a heavy-hitting career before turning a quarter of a century old, we’re banking on him to become the first Asian president. Plus, his older brother, Peter Kang, happens to be a senior VP of production at 20th Century Fox. We like him for Anne Hathaway, who after the whole Raffaelo Follieri debacle, she could use a good guy.
Oh, but there has to be someone in the White House for Jennifer Aniston, right? Of course there is. Our inner matchmaker tells us she’d be all about Peter Orszag, director of the Office of Management and Budget. This 41-year-old is divorced and has two daughters, perfect for Jen since she’s said she’s ready for a family. He’s got a sexy strong jaw, like a certain ex-husband of hers. Plus, his job involves a little thing called, oh, saving our collapsing economy. Our hero.
And for any starlets out there who don’t mind doing a little homewrecking, we’ve always secretly had a thing for David Plouffe, who’s sadly married.
