Beauty How-To: Keep Your Lips Moisturized
There’s nothing worse than a smooch that ends in scratches. Make sure your lips are always silky and pink with our four steps to great lips!Make a weekly sugar scrub:
Once a week, use a homemade sugar scrub on your lips. Make a scrub by adding a few drops of oil to a spoonful of sugar. Any oil that is on hand is fine: olive oil, sesame oil, almond oil etc.
Apply the sugar scrub:
Using your fingertip, rub the mixture over your lips for about a minute. Gently wipe away with a wet washcloth.
Daily moisturizing maintenance:
While awaiting the following week’s scrub, maintain the moisture by applying natural, preservative-free products, such as Sephora’s lip balm in a variety of flavors, or those by Burt’s Bees. The SPF 15 contained within will also protect lips from the winter sun.
Nightly moisturizing maintenance:
Keep lips moisturized while getting a good night’s sleep by applying Badger Sleep Balm directly to lips before going to bed. Petroleum jelly also works well.
