Most of what designers send down the runway is not meant to be worn so literally out on the street. When showing their collections, designers wants to put on a SHOW, and then consumers can style the items to their liking when they buy them off the rack. This is especially true of crazy couture designers like Alexander McQueen, who showed his Fall 2009 Ready To Wear collection yesterday in Paris. The man is a genius, but it’s often hard to imagine that he creates clothing that’s, uh, meant to be worn in real life, not in some creepy nightmare.
