Did you hear? No Doubt is reuniting! I didn’t really realize they had officially broken up — I thought Gwen Stefani was just taking a few years off to make solo records — but I have to say I am kind of excited about this. Their last record, Rock Steady, is one of my favorites and I think it’s far better than much of the ear-assaulting nonsense that Gwen turns out on her own. “This s–t is bananas, B-A-N-A-N-A-S”? More lie “this song is s$%t, S-$-%-T.” In any case, this reunion talk has got me thinking about the other bands and groups I would like to see come back together for one last hurrah. My dream list, after the jump. Please feel free to add yours!1. A Tribe Called Quest: Yeah, I know they reunited a few years ago, but I missed it, okay? And yes, Q-Tip has a bangin’ solo record out now, but I feel like Phife and Ali Shaheed Mohammed, balance him out.
2. The Fugees: In my dreams, this would be a bit of a hip-hop opera, with Wyclef and Pras saving Lauryn Hill from the weird baby-makin’ clutches of her Rastafarian cult.
3. N’ Sync: Shut up. It’s my fantasy list, I get what I want.
