AskMen’s Pick: Christian Bale
Christian Bale had an exciting year, in positive and negative ways — “The Dark Knight” was a critical and commercial success, but the week of its premiere, Bale was arrested and eventually cleared of domestic violence charges leveled at him by his mom and sister. He’s also one sexy piece of hotness.

Likewise, Anne Hathaway has also had an exciting year. While she’s had previous success in movies like “The Princess Diaries” and “The Devil Wears Prada”, 2008 was the year that Hathaway broke out of her prissy shell, portraying a woman just let out of rehab in “Rachel Getting Married.” Her work in that film has critics already buzzing that she could get an Oscar nod.

But, also like Bale, it’s been a tough year personally. Her suave Italian boyfriend, Raffaelo Follieri was arrested for fraud this summer, prompting their breakup, and he was just sentenced to over four years in prison. While it was all going down, Hathaway was making the media rounds promoting “Rachel Getting Married” and “Get Smart”. That’s when she showed that she’s no priss in real life as well, bouncing back, looking great, and holding her head up high. She’s got a few more films due out this year — “Bride Wars” and “Passengers” — and something tells us she’ll never be typecast again.
