Sweet Release: What’s In And Out The Week Of June 10th 2008
N.E.R.D. is back and as bangin’ ever! Fronted by The Neptunes’ fine Pharrell Williams and cool Chad Hugo along with Shay Haley, the hip-hop band has made yet another funky record full of hot hits to keep you dancing all summer long. On their third album, Seeing Sounds they rap about things we can relate to — fat asses, fashion, and they even shout out to the girls standing in the line for the bathroom.
Thumpin’ rock trio, The Fratellis, release their second fun record: Here We Stand. With choice guitar riffs, this album doesn’t disappoint as the follow up to Costello Music, which garnished the hip shakin’ hit, “Chelsea Dagger” and the iTunes ad track, “Flathead”. A little silly, a lot sexy, and three for the price of one, these guys from Glasgow know how to make a girl want to rock out.
Adele’s sophmore record is sultry and smooth. Critically acclaimed in the U.K., she’s crossing the shores with her brand of soulful singing. We predict that Adele’s new album 19 will be on rotation at Feist’s dinner parties this summer.
Alanis Morrisette still has some songs she thinks you oughta know. After another bad breakup with her former fiance, ScarJo’s future husband Ryan Reynolds, Alanis has made a new record to commemorate all her feelings called Flavors of Entanglement. Although she’s managed to keep the chip on your shoulder for almost two decades now, Alanis claims she bears him no ill will. But there is a new track called Versions of Violence, so look out Reynolds!
