Sweet Release: What’s In And Out The Week Of June 3rd 2008

Simcha | June 3, 2008 - 4:00 pm
  • Goddamn you half-emo guys, you do it to me every time. To follow up the poptastic single that makes even my vegetarian roommate want a spoonful of Pork and Beans, Weezer has a new classic, cheap, and colorful record- The Red Album. Sigh, Rivers Cuomo may not beThe Greatest Man Whoever Lived, but he’s still lovable like his pale gansta rap track.
  • Subtle, the sweet noise experiment outta Oakland, is back with a third rad record, Exiting Arm. Doseone, known for tearing it up on the mic in a band called Themselves that toured with Peaches, really knows how to lay it down with his other outfit. The Subtle sound is just that, beautiful, complex, orchestrated awesomeness.
  • The electronic lovers of Ladytron are droppin’ their fab fourth album, Velocifero, today. Sexy and slick with a beat box slap, it sounds like you gotta grab your bf and hit play. Although, you may go gay for the girl crushable front woman after you see the video for their single Ghost.
  • Also out this week:

  • Bret Michael’s makes another rock of love- Rock My World.
  • Mr. Stefani, er Gavin Rossdale from Bush, sings solo about his wife & life with Wanderlust.
  • Jewel used her small hands to make a new Country record called Perfectly Clear.
  • Aimee Mann turns the frown upside down with @#%&*! Smilers.
  • Ashanti makes an R&B Declaration.
  • The faddy Futureheads go from the garage to the dancefloor with This Is Not The World
  • Baby Dylan, Jakob, flies solo with Seeing Things.
