Tough Times For Gold-Diggers

Gold-diggers don’t have it easy these days. Yvette Penichet, a 43-year-old divorcée, probably thought she was going to be rolling in cash after a few years of caring for Alfred Kreisler, a 93-year-old lawyer with $22-million in assets who Yvette married last October. But less than six months into their marriage, a judge deemed Alfred unable to manage his responsibilities as a husband after three mental health professionals confirmed that Alfred didn’t have the mental capacity to manage his own affairs or get married. At one point during their short marriage Yvette tried to withdraw $400,097.53 for a Rolls-Royce but the bank wouldn’t let her withdraw the money. It’s comforting to know that society is looking out for rich, old men. [AHN]
